Your first step into crypto.
A plain-English starter guide. It takes about 10 minutes, and you don't need to buy anything.
The guide
- Install a wallet. A wallet is an app that holds your crypto. Popular ones on Solana are Phantom and Solflare. Only download them from their official websites or app stores.
- Write down your recovery phrase, offline. It's 12 or 24 words. Anyone who has it controls your wallet. Never type it into a website, never send it to anyone, and never screenshot it.
- Learn the scams. No real project will DM you first, ask for your phrase, or promise guaranteed returns. If it's urgent and too good to be true, it's a scam.
- Get a tiny amount of SOL. A few cents covers network fees. Ask a friend who already uses crypto to send some, or use a regulated exchange in your country.
- Make your first transaction. For example, send a tiny amount to yourself or a friend. Then copy the transaction signature from your wallet's activity page.
- Get counted. Paste your wallet address and that signature below. We check on-chain that it's a brand-new wallet, then add you to the live board.
